I love my family! I really have the most amazing people in my life. I am so thankful for those who have shown their love, concern, and compassion. When we returned home from the hospital I found my kitchen table full of flowers, and cards. Also we had many text and voicemails. We both felt so much peace and comfort. Thanks to all those who have brought us dinner this last week, and everyone who prayed for us. We know that life is about trials and it is what we make of them that either makes us stronger or weakens us.
The recovery was supposed to be relatively quick but I lost so much blood during surgery I couldn't stand without fainting therefore, I spent the night in the hospital with my love. I have a really low hemocruit and super low blood pressure causing the fainting. I am supposed to stay in bed for two weeks and then slowly get back to normal activities. It takes your body about that long to start building red blood cells and it will take about two months to make all the blood I lost. I barley missed a blood transfusion and I am sooo glad! I am just so happy to be alive and going through something like that really makes you have a different perspective on life. I hope I will be able to reflect back on this experience throughout my life.
Matt has decided its time for us to get away and surprised me with a trip. We are in the processes of planning now. We are heading out for an adventure in Costa Rica. I can't wait to get out of this smoggy dungeon and to a warm sunny beach. Just kidding about the dungeon I actually really have enjoyed the winter so far. Can't wait to get on the slopes again!

RaShae, you have definitely been in our prayers and will continue to be. I am sorry you have had such a rough recovery. I hope that everything continues to get better quickly now and how sweet of Matt for surprising you with a trip. That sounds perfect.
ReplyDeleteA trip is just what you need Shae! I love you tons and am glad you're doing better. Sorry I missed your call today at work, I tried calling tonight, but just call me back when you get a second!
ReplyDeleteShae I love you so much. You are such an incredible friend and I am so BLESSED to have you in my life! You have no idea how much I have been thinking about you and praying for you guys. You are constantly in my thoughts and i've realized that if I think about it too much I get so sad and miss you and wish I could come hang out with you while you recover!! I hope you are feeling better and I just want you to know how wonderful of an example you are to me. Your positive attitude through all this and the way you have handled everything has shown me what perspective we should have on life, even when it brings us unexpected trials. I hope you will call me whenever you need to talk, I am always here for you even though we now live hundreds of miles apart. :) You are a lucky girl with so many who love you. Hope you are having a great day!
